About our school

Did you know that Riverstone Public School was established in 1883, and was originally located on Garfield Road East? There have been many generations of family members that have attended Riverstone Public School.

Students are at the centre of everything we do!

Riverstone Public School is a welcoming and inclusive learning community which focuses to prepare all students to be lifelong learners. Our school has a Preschool on site and is from Kindergarten to Year 6, including a Special Education Unit. We also provide opportunities for Gifted and Talented students within the classroom through our innovative programs to allow all students to achieve their full potential, academically, emotionally, creatively, and socially.

All students at Riverstone Public School have access to a vast array of extracurricular activities and clubs including various sporting groups, choir, band, dance and art club for both junior and senior students.

At Riverstone Public School, each classroom has access to a range of technology, including iPads, laptops, computers and robotics such as blue-bots. Within our teaching programs, technology is used to provide students with the essential skills to be successful 21st century learners. Students also take part in a range of STEAM lessons where they learn essential skills as the development of student’s collaboration, creativity, communication, critical thinking, and citizenship skills are nurtured.

Our school continues to be highly regarded within the local community. This is a result of the hard work of committed teachers, the efforts of parents who support the school including the Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) and the result of hard work and dedicated students.
