Educational Programs at Riverstone Public School Preschool
Riverstone Public School Preschool values the importance of play-based programs and currently implements the federal government initative Early Years Learning Framework into their programs. All of our high quality programs are based on current research and are planned by our experienced and qualified early childhood staff.
Play-based programs provide a wide range of active and meaningful experiences that incorporate choice for children, while enabling them to experience many of the organisational elements that are important at school. These include understandings about:
- What happens in a day- understanding the time frame
- Patterns of interaction- with adults and with children
- Expectations- knowing what other children,parents and educators expect
- Independence-making decisions, using initiative
- Self regulation-making judgements about their own needs and responses
- Planning- choosing experiences, planning how to approach tasks and developing problem solving skills to complete tasks confidently
Our Quality Rating - In November 2020, our preschool participated in the National Quality Standard assessment and rating process achieving a rating of Exceeding the National Quality Standard. Please see the rating certificate below.
